JOB ANNOUNCEMENTALLEGANY COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENTNURSE PRACTITIONER PSYCHIATRIC MDHSTATE OF MARYLAND BENEFIT PACKAGE LOCATION : Behavioral Health NATURE OF WORK : This position will be responsible for evaluation, prescribing and management of medications to patients of the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic via in person or telehealth services. Evaluation of symptoms and determination if a higher level of care may be needed. This position may involve signing emergency petitions for clients in need, and training, education, collaboration and consultation with other staff regarding patients. This position orders, performs and interprets lab work and provides guidance and instruction in health maintenance and disease prevention. This position will refer patients to other health care providers as necessary and reviews and signs off on patient treatment plans.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Education : Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses under the certification requirements for Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric.Experience : Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses under the certification requirements for Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : The preferred candidate should possess the following experience : Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner experience.Experience working with children and adolescents.Experience working with dual diagnoses (mental health & substance abuse).
