What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prevention Coordinator position at Alleghany Highlands Community Services?
Alleghany Highlands Community Services provides services and support to individuals in our community with behavioral health challenges and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Develop and organize a community coalition which focuses on changing conditions in the environment that contribute to, or protect against, problems and consequences. Create a needs assessment team/committee to assess the community's needs and their readiness for change.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services related field (required)
- Minimum 1 year experience in public health, behavioral health, or education (preferred)
- Experience with focus groups and coalition building (preferred)
- Valid Driver's License (required)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and coordinate the community coalition to address substance abuse priorities
- Coordinate and participate in the community needs assessment to determine the problem needs in the community
- Collect data from a variety of venues to determine needs and gaps in the community
- Mobilize and build the capacity in the community to address needs by creating partnerships and identifying a champion to assist in the process
