What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler – position at Allegheny Bradford Corporation?
Job Summary:
Responsible for processing materials for production orders, sales orders and transfer orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Neatly and accurately complete necessary paperwork: timesheet, 5S checklist and requisitions for production materials.
Correctly use computer to perform duties such as: clock-in and clock-out, create labels for parts, and perform search of inventory information including on-hand quantities and locations.
Use handheld barcode scanner.
Maintain correct stock quantities through cycle counts.
Accurately read and use tape measure.
Operate fabrication machinery, i.e. shear, band saw, abrasives saw, etc.
Must be able to read blueprints and calculate dimensional requirements for production materials.
Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
Safely operate forklift to load and unload trucks. (Requires valid Driver’s License)
Carefully operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment.
Regularly check shelves to determine items needed for stock replenishment. Pull overflow items necessary to fill these shelves.
Tools and Technology Skills:
Regular use of desktop computer including Microsoft Office / AX Dynamics and shipping/receiving related websites or software, copier/scanner, fax, telephone, and handheld barcode scanner.
Requires valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Hourly position available on 1st shift: M-F 6:30 am- 3:00pm. Position requires the ability to work over-time which may include arriving early or working on normally scheduled days off.
