Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or its equivalent AND five (5) years of experience as a building manager (i.e. Managing/supervising Plumbers, Electricians, Stationary Engineers, Tuckpointers, BAS Technicians, etc.) OR ten (10) years of experience as a Plumber, Electrician, Stationary Engineer, Tuckpointer, BAS Technician, or other related trade.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.
- Applicants must maintain a valid Driver’s License throughout employment.

This role ensures efficient operations, supports the strategic goals of the department, and maintains compliance with county policies and safety regulations.
Overview
Duties:
- Supports the Deputy Director of Operations in overseeing daily facility operations.
- Serves as the primary liaison for facility-related issues across any of the five (5) campuses comprised of county-owned and leased properties including: Detention facilities, Kane Regional Assisted Living Centers, Public Safety Facilities, Allegheny County Parks, and the Downtown Campus. Prioritizes, schedules, and coordinates maintenance work and repairs for trades personnel.
- Monitors all maintenance requests and verifies that work orders are properly documented, assigned, and tracked for timely completion.
- Ensures work is completed efficiently and to quality standards.
- Collaborates with Project Management team in Facilities Management and Public Works on minor construction projects, renovations, and capital improvements, ensuring alignment with department goals and budgets.
- Coordinates with trade supervisors and fiscal management, and procurement and allocation of equipment, materials, and personnel for repair and maintenance projects.
- Assists in developing strategic plans, policies, and operational goals for facility management.
- Coordinates compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Utilizes software to track, schedule, and close out work orders and service requests.
- Supports emergency preparedness efforts related to facility management.
- Monitors expenditures and identifies cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality.
- Provides reports and updates to leadership on facility operations and project progress.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by department leadership.
