What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resource Specialist position at Allegheny County?
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Resource Services Specialist, you will work with a broad range of human services professionals (including DHS and contracted staff, court personnel, the judiciary, and other key partners) to identify, analyze, utilize, monitor, and develop service arrays to meet the needs of at-risk individuals and families in Allegheny County in need of services offered by DHS and other supportive community entities. Primary duties involve providing assistance in identifying systems for accessing services; assisting with compliance requirements, policies, procedures, and regulations for accessing services; and reporting problems, issues, and concerns regarding contracted and community services.
Excellent communication skills are vital, as you will be participating in hearings and case conferences in order to identify needs and recommend appropriate services for at-risk individuals or families. You will also function as a liaison between DHS staff and other stakeholders in order to streamline access to services and increase knowledge and awareness of all services.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours/week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional level experience in the field of children, youth and families; and a bachelor's degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Pay: $54,181.00 - $59,599.00 per year
