Accounting Associate-HYBRID

Allegheny Financial Group (AFG) is seeking an Accounting Associate responsible for all Allegheny Financial accounts receivable, bank deposits, deferred revenue reporting, and other administrative tasks. This position is part of an experienced and knowledgeable team that prides itself on consistently exceeding expectations.

This role will have a hybrid schedule but will spend more time in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office during the orientation and training period.

A typical day will include a mix of the following tasks:

• Perform data entry for all accounts receivable.
• Prepare bank deposits and process electronic deposits.
• Research and resolve outstanding deposits while maintaining accurate records.
• Process and record all client invoices and payments.
• Verify deposits by reconciling bank account statements and transactions.
• Assist the accounting team with year-end audit.
• Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls.
• Prepare the deferred revenue report and analyze all revenue data. Present and discuss the analysis with the accounting team.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.

You might be a great match if you have:

• Associate degree in accounting or equivalent preferred.
• 2 to 5 years or related accounting experience preferred. Previous work experience in the financial services field is preferable.
• Strong attention to detail with high level of accuracy, initiative, and follow-through.
• Advanced level user of Microsoft Office and Excel. Ability to perform data sorting, filtering, lookup, and pivot table functions.
• The Ability to quickly become proficient in various CRM and financial software programs (Sage, PDF software, Fidelity/Wealthscape).
• Self-motivated and responsible with ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to ensure confidentiality of client data.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
