EDUCATION MANAGER
HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START – BEDFORD/FULTON COUNTIES
Monday through Friday Schedule
Full Time/Exempt
The Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Bedford and Fulton counties work in partnership with families to build children’s and parents’ strength, promote self-esteem, and encourage self-sufficiency and lifelong learning. This position plans, develops, coordinates, carries out, and evaluates the day-to-day implementation of all phases of the education component.
Responsibilities:
- Collects, tracks, and analyzes trends in the field as well as data on children and families in the program.
- Develops and maintains effective communication with team members and parents to share education goals, philosophy, policies and procedures.
- Monitors curriculum appropriateness and fidelity within classrooms.
- Maintains written policies, procedures, and plans based on data and best practice for program improvements.
- Completes classroom observations to ensure quality environments.
- Works cooperatively with other team members to implement performance standards and achieve program goals.
- Develops, coordinates, and implements training for the education team members either by directly providing the training or arranging for the use of outside resources.
- Supervises members of the education team and supports supervision of classroom teams.
- Manages and provides oversight of all classroom operations across Bedford and Fulton counties.
- Collaborates with school districts and coordinates successful transition events for children entering Kindergarten.
- Willing to obtain and maintain curriculum and observation certifications.
- Provides coaching to education team members based on selected model.
- Monitor usage and disbursement of funds budgeted for education needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor or advanced degree and equivalent coursework in Early Childhood Education with early education teaching experience.
- Must possess two years supervisory experience
- Three years working with low-income children and families.
- Valid Driver’s license, Act 33, 34/151, and FBI Clearances.
