Job Overview: As a Warehouse Assistant and Installation Support, you will be responsible for maintaining an organized warehouse, handling freight, supporting installation teams, and ensuring positive customer interactions. This role requires a blend of warehouse management skills and hands-on installation support, including the ability to handle equipment and perform manual labor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain an orderly and clean warehouse space.
- Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Secure freight inside trailers using tools and supplies such as pallets, straps, and rope.
- Recoup, repackage, and repair damaged freight as needed.
- Verify freight delivery and ensure it is received without damage; follow proper procedures if damage occurs.
- Build accurate orders and stage equipment for jobs.
- Load trucks for the installation team and assist with installation tasks as needed, including manual labor.
- Deliver small equipment to customer locations and transport parts from the central warehouse to field service technicians.
- Maintain positive communication with customers and team members.
- Wash, rinse, and return all equipment, ensuring a clean work environment.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies/procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and experience driving small delivery vehicles.
- Must possess a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical card or be able to pass a DOT physical within 7 days of hire. Ability to sit/drive for a full 8-hour shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and writing English.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior experience in warehouse, freight handling, and/or forklift operations preferred.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction) without a calculator.
- Ability to work with basic hand tools.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and reach for products from ground level to approximately 6 feet high.
- Ability to stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift.
- Forklift experience and certification desired but not required; willingness to learn how to operate a forklift is required.
