Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) seeks a motivated Program Analyst / Event Planner to support the Department of Energy Idaho Operations (DOE-ID) and Office of Nuclear Energy (DOE-NE) in tracking project status, financials, and event logistics.

Workload Distribution:

This role will have a primary focus on program analysis functions, with approximately 30-40% dedication to event planning. The selected candidate must be comfortable handling financial analysis, project tracking, and coordination while also leading and executing large-scale event logistics. While event planning is an important aspect of this role, it will primarily serve as a supporting function within the broader program analysis responsibilities.

Program Analyst Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support project tracking, data integration, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with DOE policies and financial management requirements.
  • Assist with annual work package planning and execution.
  • Monitor programmatic baseline and funding changes throughout the fiscal year.
  • Participate in progress reviews and DOE meetings.
  • Collaborate with DOE-ID/HQ personnel on financial matters and budget tracking.
  • Conduct research and provide high-level analysis of business products.

Event Planning Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute conferences, workshops, and meetings.
  • Manage logistics, venue coordination, equipment, and registration.
  • Serve as the Point of Contact (POC) for all events.
  • Coordinate vendors, contracts, travel, and printed materials.
  • Maintain registration sites, process invoices, and oversee event setup.
  • Ensure seamless execution and high-quality customer service.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior program / project analysis experience, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Strong financial tracking, budgeting, and program coordination skills, particularly within a DOE or federal government environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Previous knowledge / experience with Federal Travel Regulation (FTR).
  • Prior experience in event planning and public relations, preferably supporting federal customers.
  • Knowledge / Experience with Eventbrite for registration sites, including Cvent for transmitting RFPs to venues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills- high-level professionalism with a variety of individuals such as guests, team members and vendors.

Other Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • 15-20% travel is required.
  • This position is mostly remote but will require onsite work associated with event planning activities/responsibilities.
  • Must have ability to sit in meetings and work effectively using project management and other tools on a personal computer for extended periods.

These include, but are not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align with the specific role, geographic location, educational background, and contract provisions related to labor categories specific to the position. We are committed to offering a competitive compensation package that reflects the value and expertise that each candidate brings to our team.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is $90,000 - $105,000.
