Are you an experienced Superintendent with a strong background in overseeing large-scale concrete construction projects? We have an exciting opportunity for you to play a lead role for a regional contractor focused mostly on commercial projects.
Based in the North of Chicago they specialize in a wide range of projects covering industrial, retail, commercial, medical and municipal. They are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations for a high-profile concrete construction project. The ideal candidate will ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This is a key leadership role, collaborating with project managers, contractors, architects, and engineers.
Requirements:
• 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, with a focus on concrete projects – New concrete, paving, structural concrete repair, masonry etc
• Proven track record managing large-scale, complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, blueprints, and contract documents.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
• Knowledge of concrete-specific construction codes, standards, and regulations.
• OSHA certification and other relevant safety training.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the daily construction activities on site, ensuring adherence to schedules and plans.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and labor to maintain high-quality standards.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including project managers and engineers.
• Conduct site inspections, manage quality control, and address any issues that arise.
• Monitor progress and report on milestones to senior management.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure all permits and inspections are completed on time.
