PCA Personal Care Aide

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aide to provide essential support to a family with a special needs teenage son who is non-verbal, active and attends high school .

The ideal candidate will have experience in care giving, particularly in individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our client, ensuring his safety, inside of the home.

Duties

• Provide companionship and emotional support to client and fostering a positive environment
• Meet client at the home after school. He rides the bus in Lexington Four school district.
• Prepare/feed dinner.
• Prepare for bedtime
• Work with parents to maintain schedule.
• Keep client company.
• Saturday hours are required.
• Uphold clients rights and dignity at all times.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar care giving environment is mandatory.
• First aid qualified
• Understanding of resident rights and the ability to advocate for them.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is REQUIRED.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean working environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to care giving.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
