As a technician apprentice, you'll learn practical skills and knowledge under the guidance of a skilled mentor, engaging in on-the-job training and related instruction to become a proficient technician.
Job Responsibilities
- Work alongside experienced technicians, learning from them and gaining hands-on experience
- Follow the guidance and instructions of your supervisor and mentor
- Assist with various tasks, including preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and making repairs
- Learn to use diagnostic tools and other equipment to test and repair systems and components
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, or assisting with more complex repairs
- Document your work and maintain records of maintenance and repairs
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
- Comply with local, state, and federal polices and regulations
- Enrolled into, and currently attending, a high school or post-high school trade program, with a focus on Diesel Mechanics
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow procedures and directions from mentor
- Efficient problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Physical ability to perform tasks that require lifting, bending, or standing for extended periods of time.
