Job Purpose
The Human Resources Specialist will support day to day needs of a designated large and complex dealership and/or area which includes multiple dealerships. They will be responsible for successful execution of HR process including recruitment, development & training, employee relations, and HR administration. This role will focus on the overall health of culture and employee engagement through effective communication and partnerships with local Operations leaders. The successful HR Specialist will deliver results with Operations leaders that maximize productivity and minimize costs which meet and exceed expectations.

Job Purpose

This role will focus on the overall health of culture and employee engagement through effective communication and partnerships with local Operations leaders. The successful HR Specialist will deliver results with Operations leaders that maximize productivity and minimize costs which meet and exceed expectations.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Partners with the local/area Operations leadership team to execute the human resource talent strategy as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Provides support and guidance to resolve questions and issues; will be responsible to administer and execute routine tasks including onboarding, time reporting to payroll, union compliance, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Works with recruitment partner on the deployment of recruitment strategy and process, which will include sourcing, interviewing, selection and pre-employment tasks of qualified job applicants
- Executes employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with union contracts, federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Ensures compliance, documentation and maintenance of workflow and work procedures. Recommends new approaches and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Analyzes local and regional trends in compensation and benefits; researches and keeps pulse of base and incentive pay programs to ensure their dealerships stay competitive to attract and retain top talent.
- Work with training partners to assist in the deployment of programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in business related field, preferably Human Resources or Business Management.
- Financial and business acumen a must
- 5 years’ experience as HR Generalist or Manager (including union administration and recruitment experience). Preferably in related industry.
- PHR Certification or SHRM-CP is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Up to 50% travel will be required. Ability to travel overnight on short notice
- Must possess the ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language. Bi-lingual is preferred (Spanish/English).
