What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alarm Installation Trainee position at Allegiant Fire Protection LLC?
Allegiant is looking to add a technician to our Alarm Installation Department.
Entry level applicants welcomed! The Alarm Installation Trainee will train and develop their skillset by working alongside one of our Lead Installation Technicians. The Trainee will learn how to perform installation and programming of low voltage electrical and fire alarm systems. Services are completed within NFPA and other code compliance requirements.
While this posting is open for an entry level applicant, we will consider any candidates with with relevant experience in Fire Alarm and low voltage installations. Compensation will be aligned with the candidates familiarity and technical ability to program, run conduit, pull wire, and install circuits for low voltage electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
Install, test, and repair fire alarm systems.
Consult with client on system requirements; provide system recommendations.
Use blueprints or building plans to install system based on building layout and setting.
Maintain and update schematics, drawings and documentation files on equipment and notify engineering of those changes.
Run conduit, pull wire and install circuits for low voltage electrical systems.
Inspect and test systems, batteries, and electrical wiring; makes adjustments and repairs as required.
Repair electronic components using electronic test equipment and replacement parts.
Ensure systems comply with electrical and fire codes.
Explain and demonstrate system function and operation to end users.
Exhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with company staff and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform administrative duties including completing daily service acknowledgements, safety documentation, and other related duties as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Skills & Abilities:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
Ability to learn about the fire protection industry through field testing as well as studying of code books on your own time.
Must be able and willing to work overtime, including weekends on occasion to meet customer needs.
Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.
Regularly ascend/descend ladders up to 16 feet.
Physically able to install system hardware and wiring.
Must be able to carry, lift and move 50 pounds at a time to a height of 3-4 feet.
Perform general job duties at an elevated height via aerial lift.
Ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds and high-lift equipment as well as working in ducts, crawl spaces and above ceilings
