Learning & Development Specialist

Summary

The Learning & Development Specialist I develops training content and materials and delivers courses built around company goals and Team Member experience. The Specialist I facilitates training approximately 50-100 days per year and supports the overall efforts of the Learning & Development Department when not facilitating or developing courses. The coursework library is constantly in development so the ability to develop and improve content is essential.

The Learning & Development Specialist I must be located in the Las Vegas area and able to work fully onsite or hybrid with 60% in-office work.

Minimum Requirements

A combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Years of Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in corporate training or learning and development field.

• Proficient in the operation of common audio/visual equipment.

• Intermediate skill in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.

• Beginner skills in SharePoint and Microsoft 365.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong presentation and group facilitation skills for all group levels.

• Solid understanding of the training process beginning with needs assessment and ending with program evaluation.

• Proficient at writing, proofing and assisting with the production of learning and development communications.

• Ability to organize/prioritize work, manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong project management and organization skills; attention to detail; strong meeting management skills.

• Must be proactive and self-managed with a desire to continuously improve, learn, and build new skills.

• Able to work either in-office at our Las Vegas campus or able to work hybrid with 60% in-office work.

• Ability and willingness to travel to support program events as required.

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, or related field.

• Experience working with eLearning authoring software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline and Rise.

Job Duties

• Facilitate learning programs in both the traditional classroom and virtual classroom environment including but not limited to New Hire Orientation, New Team Member Onboarding, Educational Assistance Webinars, etc.

• Provide continuous learning opportunities to various levels within the organization.

• Use adult learning principles to adjust content for the target audience.

• Modify or create training course content, materials, job aids, communications, pre-work, post- course work, course evaluations and provide associated logistical support for course delivery.

• Collaborate in the development, coordination, and facilitation of company-wide learning and development programs, including New Hire Orientation.

• Develop and support onboarding process for all Team Members to enhance their Team Member Experience by updating information to assimilate to Allegiant.

• Use analysis and surveys to assess needs and design strategy to implement additional training.

• Manage Educational Assistance Program including application process, information sessions, procession, etc., under the direction of the Corporate Learning Manager.

• Deliver high level of customer service to all learners and business partners by embodying the Allegiant core values and People Services pledge.

• Provide data and metrics for impact to Team Member Experience.

• Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing direction.

• Other duties as assigned.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
