JOB SUMMARY
The primary duties of the Guest Service Supervisor is to accommodate guests during their stay in an attentive, courteous and friendly manner, and assist and guide the front office staff in daily duties and long term goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Able to make reasonable and professional decisions. Accurately manage cash drawer and credit card system. Communicate pertinent shift information to the next shift and direct supervisor.
Assist and guide the front office staff through their daily duties and responsibilities. Train Front Office staff as designated and outlined in the Front Office Training Procedures.
Maintain a positive work environment.
Check guests in and out of the hotel in a courteous and pleasant manner. Use the appropriate phrases and greetings when interacting with guests. Conduct self in a friendly and attentive manner during all guest encounters.
Offer assistance to the individual needs and requests of all guests. Ensure guest needs are responded to in a timely and efficient manner. Provide information pertaining to available services and facilities of hotel, points of interest and entertainment attractions, making reservations as needed.
Use proper telephone and reservation etiquette including describing the hotel, proper rate quotation and capturing reservations. Operate phone system in, at times, a fast paced environment.

You are responsible for working in a safe and conscientious manner and ensuring the Department staff members work in a safe and conscientious manner. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times
The Company adheres to all applicable wage and hour laws, including meal periods, rest periods and overtime. As a supervisor, you are responsible for being familiar with these policies and for adhering to them at all times. You are also responsible for assuring the those you supervise also understand and adhere to these Company’s policies. You must immediately document and report any violation by others.
Rest periods: You are authorized and permitted to take paid rest periods. The rest period is based on the total hours worked daily and must be at the minimum rate of a net ten consecutive minutes for each four hour work period or major fraction thereof. If you work an 8 hour shift, you are therefore entitled to two rest periods. It is your responsibility to schedule your own rest periods. The rest periods are required to be taken on the hotel premises. Authorized rest periods are counted as hours worked and are not deducted from wages. You are therefore not to clock out for rest periods. Rest periods cannot be combined together or with meal breaks. At the end of each pay period, you will be asked to verify whether or not you have been provided your rest periods.
You are responsible for ensuring all Department team members accurately record all hours worked. In the event a team member, supervisor or department manager is contacted for hotel related business while not at work, or handles company business on personal time (vacation), the team member, supervisor or department manager must record and be paid for the amount of time spent working on the business related issue.
The Company reimburses team members for reasonable and necessary expenses in accordance with the hotel’s expense reimbursement policy. Refer to the team member handbook for details. You have primary responsibility for assuring those you supervise understand and adhere to these policies.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Long hours are sometimes required.

Pay: $19.50 - $21.00 per hour
