Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) PART TIME

The primary purpose of this job position is to provide your assigned residents with the routine daily assistance they need in their activities of daily living, and as may be directed by your Supervisors. The position requires a rare combination of clinical skills and the psychological needs that the residents need.

Job Responsibilities

• Effectively implements individualized resident care plans
• Competently completes assignments in a timely manner
• Resident rounds are made at least every 2 hours for toileting, repositioning, assessing hydration, etc.
• Displays courtesy and respect
• Respond to all resident requests for assistance
• Resident privacy and dignity are maintained at all times
• Smiles and consistently exudes a pleasant persona
• Expresses genuine caring attitude to geriatric resident population
• Proper use of Standard Precautions
• Follows all Nursing Department Policies and Procedures
• Ability to work with others in a professional atmosphere
• Practices appropriate infection control measures
• Is flexible and willingly works other assignments as dictated by resident need
• Demonstrates willingness and ability to learn new policies and procedures
• Flexible in meeting department scheduling needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.

License, Certificates, Registration: Current certification from the State Board of Nursing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

OSHA OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE CATEGORY: After careful analysis, it has been determined that this position falls into OSHA Occupational Exposure Category A and requires the following protective equipment be worn by anyone filling this position.

GLOVES, GOWNS, MASKS, AND/OR GOGGLES: Training will be provided in how to properly and effectively use any necessary equipment, in addition to education regarding precautionary measures, epidemiology, modes of transmission and prevention of HIV/HBV.

Pay: $18.50 - $20.50 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 – 28 per week
