What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Movement Instructor position at Allegro Foundation?
Allegro Foundation…a Champion for Disabilities is looking for a kind and energetic Part-Time Movement Instructor to join our staff! The candidate must love children and will be trained in the Allegro Technique, to serve as a Movement Instructor in classes.

Allegro’s Part-Time Movement Instructors will be paid as Independent Contractors and will be reimbursed for mileage.
Starting as an Assistant you will make $15.00 per half hour (each class is 30 minutes). As a Lead Instructor you will make $17.00 per half hour (each class is 30 minutes).
Allegro can offer 10-15 classes a week starting immediately for the school year (September – May). During the Summer (June-August) the number of classes could decrease to 5-10 classes a week.
Many of our programs have 3 to 4 classes back-to-back. You will be expected to drive to multiple locations per day ranging from locations in Charlotte, NC, Huntersville, NC, Rock Hill, SC, and Fort Mill, SC.
Allegro hosts two large fundraisers a year and there is a possibility of having office hours if you are available to help with the fundraisers.
Mission Statement: Allegro Foundation…a Champion for Children with Disabilities is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that combines movement instruction with educational and medical expertise, creating new techniques to teach children with disabilities and enhance their quality of life.
You will be trained in Allegro’s techniques for working with children with disabilities in our Movement Education classes.
When training you will be an Assistant Instructor. Once training is complete there is a possibility to move up to a Lead Instructor
· Attend Allegro curriculum meetings 3x a year
· Follow lesson plans from Allegro curriculum and teach assigned programs in Movement Education classes to children with disabilities
Qualifications:
Must be vaccinated for Covid and Flu.
Live in Charlotte or surrounding area.
Education
Professional Experience or Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree.
Experience
· Previous experience working with children and pleasant speaking voice
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Ability to teach children movement to counts and music. Experience with any of these a plus: fitness, music, theatre, yoga, dance, sports, and/or cheerleading.
· Strong leader who can take control of a classroom of young students and project their voice
Animated - must be able to hold children’s attention
· Team Player - ability to work collaboratively on a high-functioning team
· High energy - outgoing, extroverted personality
· Mature and professional - confident and responsible
· Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Other Requirements
Valid NC or SC driver’s license, access to reliable and insured transportation. Background check will be conducted.
