Volunteer/Program Assistant Job description
The Allegro Foundation… a Champion for Children with Disabilities is looking for a kind and extroverted Volunteer/Program Assistant to join our staff! The candidate must write well and have good communication skills.
Allegro Foundation… a Champion for Children with Disabilities is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that combines movement instruction with educational & medical expertise, creating new techniques to teach children living with disabilities and enhance their quality of life.
The Allegro Foundation teaches 30-minute movement education classes to children living with disabilities and children who are at risk. Allegro travels to Charlotte Mecklenburg schools, York County, SC schools, community outreach sites, and summer camps in the area to facilitate these classes.
Responsibilities:
Reports to: President, Executive Director, and Communications and Operations Director
Hours / Week: 40
- Social Media: update social media accounts as needed
- Volunteer Coordination – you will recruit, manage, and retain volunteers for Allegro’s classes and two yearly fundraisers
- Auction Coordination – you will cold-call organizations and businesses to obtain donations to place in auction at our two yearly fundraisers. You will be expected to organize, maintain, and follow-through on each call.
Qualifications:
Education
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree
Experience
- 3 years of office work experience
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Social Media (Facebook and Instagram)
- Graphic Design
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent writing skills
- Responsible - must be able to respect office rules and regulations and be on time to work

Other Requirements:
- Covid and Flu vaccines required
- Valid NC or SC driver’s license, access to reliable insured transportation, and ability to work non- traditional work hours as needed.
