Allen Academy is seeking candidates to join our Lower School team in the area of Learning Support for the 2025-2026 school year. We are looking for teachers who are passionate about education and are committed to teaching and helping students who struggle or learn differently. We are seeking qualified applicants with a degree in Elementary Education (Masters level preferred), have classroom experience, have the ability to work well with students, parents and colleagues, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and who value a whole-child approach to teaching and learning. The candidate should be certified or currently working on certification in Take Flight Dyslexia Therapy. They must be able to read and interpret educational assessment reports and use the data to create a plan to inform the instructional needs of the students. Successful candidates will be dedicated to collaboration, have a creative and flexible approach to curriculum and instruction as well as an interest and experience in inquiry and project-based learning.

  • Communicate verbally and in writing regularly, clearly, and honestly with parents, informally and through conferences

  • Participate and engage in faculty meetings and professional development programs at department, division and whole-school levels
  • Attend scheduled committee and faculty meetings, both during and after-school
  • Ensure the safety of each student by supervising and engaging in recess, lunch, and transitions between classrooms
