We're currently on the lookout for an experienced Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant in our Petersburg office's vibrant team.
Job Duties :
- 3 years Personal Injury plaintiff experience
- Maryland / DC experience preferred
- Assists attorneys in preparation for meetings with witnesses, clients, officers, and experts; depositions; hearings; mediation; trial; and client closing.
- Drafts correspondence, pleadings, and discovery answers.
- Drafts expert witness designations, motions, pre-trial scheduling orders, complaints, subpoenas and subpoenas duces tecum.
- Redact medical bills for use at trial.
- Schedule all trial-related meetings.
- Calculate and calendar court deadlines.
- File pleadings in state and federal courts, court of appeals, Virginia Supreme Court.
- Manage and audit liens, including liens associated with ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, and workers compensation.
- Work within a case management system.
- Other duties as assigned.
