Job Summary
The role of the CAD technician will be to assist in surveying, engineering, and planning. This
position will have an opportunity to cross-train in multiple areas or specialize in the area they
prefer.
Responsibilities and Duties
Perform field work on civil engineering, construction, and general surveying projects,
including topographic, ALTA, boundary, Right of Way and As-builts, Flood Elevation
Certificates, Lot Surveys with supervision provided by a senior survey technician
Create plats, site plans, construction drawings, survey drawings, and exhibits
Follow company CAD procedures and standards
Maintain schedules
Utilize CAD commands (Corridors, Feature Lines and Pipe networks)
Perform site civil layouts and design tasks (i.e. plan and profiles, slope calculations,
grading information, cross sections, drainage)
Qualifications and Skills
High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
2 years of experience in AutoCAD, and/or Civil3D experience a plus / not required
CAD certification preferred
Land surveying, engineering, or planning experience is preferred
Experience with hardware and software technology is preferred
Understand basic principles of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
3D Modeling Existing and Proposed
File Management
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and/or BlueBeam software
Demonstrated time management abilities
Working and Physical Requirements
Able to work approximately Monday through Friday 8 a.m. 5 p.m., 90% of the time in
the office with 10% in the field.
When working outside, ability to stand for long periods, walk over all types of terrain
while carrying equipment up to 50 pounds.
This position could require work outside of these hours.
