Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist with experience in procurement, logistics, and inventory management to support the development and production of our defense systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in sourcing critical components, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials across all stages of production. Experience in military or defense-related supply chains is a plus, as you will be working with sensitive technologies and adhering to stringent quality and compliance standards.

What You'll Do

• Sourcing and Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for essential materials and components, ensuring they meet ACS’s quality, reliability, and cost standards.
• Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to support high standards for material quality and timely delivery, including developing contingency plans for critical parts.
• Inventory Management: Track and control inventory levels, ensuring materials are available for production without excess or shortages, and develop efficient reordering practices.
• Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the shipment, receipt, and inspection of materials to meet production schedules, working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
• Cost Optimization: Implement cost-saving initiatives in procurement and logistics, while ensuring that quality and compliance requirements are met.
• Compliance with Military Standards: Ensure that all suppliers and materials meet necessary military and industry standards, including ITAR and MIL-STD requirements where applicable.
• Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, inventory levels, and supplier performance, and provide regular reports to management on supply chain metrics.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to support project timelines and requirements.
  
  

What You'll Need

• Experience in Supply Chain Management: 5 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics, preferably in the defense, aerospace, or high-tech manufacturing sectors.
• Bachelor’s Degree: Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Defense and Military Standards: Familiarity with MIL-STD requirements, as well as compliance standards such as ITAR, is highly desirable.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills for evaluating supplier performance, managing inventory, and optimizing procurement costs.
• ERP/MRP Systems Proficiency: Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other inventory management software) for tracking and managing orders, inventory, and suppliers.
• Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to quickly address supply chain challenges and develop effective solutions to keep production timelines on track.
• Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong interpersonal skills for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and working collaboratively with internal teams.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail for managing complex documentation, regulatory compliance, and reporting requirements.
• Must be willing to travel to supplier sites as needed to strengthen supplier relationships and ensure quality standards.
  
  

You'll Stand Out

• Military and Defense Supply Chain Experience: Direct experience working within defense or military supply chains, especially related to MIL-STD requirements and ITAR compliance.
• Supplier Quality Management: Experience implementing supplier quality assurance processes and quality audits for critical components.
• Lean or Six Sigma Certification: Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies for process optimization.
• Logistics and Shipping Expertise: Understanding of international shipping regulations, import/export requirements, and hazardous materials handling.
• Advanced ERP Skills: Proficiency in advanced ERP/MRP system functionalities for forecasting, automated reordering, and supplier tracking.
