Under the direction of the Finance Supervisor, the Finance Deputy is responsible for maintaining precise financial records, adhering to regulatory requirements, and offering financial insights to facilitate decision-making. They handle court records, validate, verify, and record funds pertaining to the division's jurisdiction, as well as collect fees and fines. This position is covered as defined by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Allen Employee Handbook.

Essential Functions
- Manage cash flow, including collections, deposits, and disbursements.
- Monitor accounts receivable and payable, maintain accurate cash records, and ensure efficient cash handling procedures.
- Assess, collect, record, and account for various fees, fines, costs, judgments, and user fees in accordance with State statutes for different case types.
- Process late surrender fees, forfeitures, copies, and mail notices.
- Provide assistance to attorneys, the general public, and court personnel in person and over the phone by offering information, guidance, and appropriate referrals.
- Review court orders and determine the need for relevant documents and legal notifications.
- Prepare and forward documents to the appropriate individuals or agencies, including transport orders and orders for protection.
- Maintain Civil and Criminal Court filings.
- Assess court orders to determine if bail money can be released.
- Conduct audits of reports, process court records, access information for the public, verify financial details, and perform various accounting functions using computer software programs.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Associate's Degree in Business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- One year of experience as a bank teller or in a similar accounting role
- Comprehensive understanding of standard accounting practices and procedures
- Capable of working independently without direct supervision
- Familiarity with Clerk of Court's procedures, including a solid grasp of legal terminology, court processes, and the various divisions within the court system
- Demonstrates sound judgment skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficient in the use of standard office equipment, such as multi-line telephones, printers, copiers, and fax machines
