What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks - Metea Park - Part Time Maintenance Worker position at Allen County, Indiana?
Under the Direction of the General Maintenance Worker, the Maintenance Worker performs maintenance to
park buildings and grounds, including mowing and performing janitorial duties. This position is not covered
as defined by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Allen Employee Handbook.

The Maintenance Worker maintains frequent contact with other County employees and the public when performing
maintenance to park buildings and grounds
Working Conditions
The Maintenance Worker spends frequent time walking about with some standing and sitting. Frequent lifting of up to
sixty pounds, bending, pushing/pulling and attention to detail exists, as well as some reaching over head, kneeling,
crawling and climbing ladders. Some typing, monitoring of equipment and detailed inspection are required. The
Maintenance Worker is frequently exposed to noise, extreme temperatures, insects and poison ivy. Some exposure to
dangerous equipment, chemicals and noxious odors and or fumes exists.

- Responsible for performing maintenance to park grounds, including mowing, landscaping and snow removal.
- Assist maintenance supervisor in cleaning and maintaining buildings.
- Performs minor repairs to signs, exhibits, and other park property
- Assists with performing set-up and clean-up of rentals.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED and some maintenance experience
- Valid Driver's License to drive County vehicle
- Ability to follow instructions and work with little to no supervision to accomplish tasks independently
- Ability to operate tractor, chain saw, Iog splitter, chipper, snow blower, spin trim, hand tools, power tools,
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in order to ensure the safety of self and others
- Ability to effectively communicate in a courteous and professional manner with members of the public and
