Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like:
- Innovation Leader: Lead research tests to develop new formulas for beverages, nutritional bars, and confectionary products. Continuously expand our product offerings while improving existing formulas to meet market demands.
- Product Formulator: Formulate new products, including beverages and nutritional bars, based on input from Marketing and Senior Leaders, ensuring technical feasibility and market competitiveness.
- Confectionary Creator: Leverage your knowledge of confectionary systems to develop creative and delicious products that meet sensory and nutritional standards.
- Lab Guru: Manage the innovation laboratory, troubleshooting instrumentation and ensuring accurate and efficient testing processes.
- Nutritional Bar Specialist: Develop formulas that cater to health trends, understanding the interaction between ingredients to optimize texture, shelf life, and taste in nutritional bars.
- Sensory Expert: Organize and lead sensory research sessions for beverages, bars, and confectionaries, analyzing results to shape the direction of new projects.
- Shelf-Life Specialist: Design and conduct shelf-life studies, ensuring products maintain quality, texture, and flavor until the end of their shelf life, particularly in complex systems like nutritional bars and confectionaries.
- Presentation Pro: Present findings and new product concepts to the product development team, senior leadership, customers, and suppliers, including innovations in the nutritional bar and confectionary categories.
- Regulatory Whiz: Stay informed about regulations and ensure all formulations, from beverages to bars and confections, comply with food safety standards.
- Team Player: Collaborate with Procurement, Product Development, and other teams to source innovative ingredients for bars and confectionary products, evaluate project costs, and stay on top of industry trends.
You’ll Shine if You Have:
Education:
- BS, MS, or MBS in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, or a similar field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
Experience:
- 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 3 years with a master’s degree. Experience in beverage, nutritional bar, and baked goods development are required.
- Knowledge of ingredient interactions specific to nutritional bars, confectionary systems, and beverage formulation is essential.
Skills:
- Expertise in beverages, nutritional bars, and baked goods formulation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and lab equipment (TA, Brix, RI, Density, refractive index, etc.).
- Strong project management skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, particularly in the development of shelf-stable products like nutritional bars and confections.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a knack for working independently or in a team environment.
- Interest in industry trends and new ingredient sourcing for the development of innovative products.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
