Allen & Hoshall is seeking an electrical engineer with a power systems background to join our Knoxville, TN team. Since 1915, Allen & Hoshall has been recognized as a premiere design firm with an exceptional dedication to our clients. For nearly 85 years, Allen & Hoshall's Electric Utility (EU) Division has provided planning, design and construction administration services for a variety of clients, including electric systems, government agencies, and the industrial community. The ideal candidate will work with other members of the EU team to provide solutions to our client's projects that are both technically innovative and cost effective.
Some of the responsibilities could include:
• Communicate with our clients to cultivate a clear understanding of project expectations and design criteria
• Develop electric system models using Milsoft and SKM engineering analysis software
• Prepare written and oral reports that explore electric system challenges and provide recommended solutions
• Design substation and distribution line facilities using software and engineering judgement
• Assist in the calibration, testing & programming of protective relays
• Produce technical specifications that adhere project design criteria and industry standards
• Provide leadership in the candidate’s specific area of technical expertise
Qualified Candidates should:
• BSEE from an ABET accredited university
• At least five years of progressive experience with medium voltage power systems
• Registration as a Professional Engineer.
• Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with AutoCAD and PLS-CADD is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to provide on-site project observation and technical assistance during construction
• Ability to effectively work independently or as part of a design team
• Willing to relocate to Knoxville, TN area

Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
