What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer position at Allen Industries Inc?
The position of General Laborer is responsible is for creating and building various shipping containers.
DUTIES
Fabricate wooden crates or boxes using woodworking hand tools and powered tools
Read blueprints, shipping notices and other specifications to determine materials needed and types of support and braces to be used
Assembles materials using nailing or stapling machine, screws, bolts, glue and hand tools
Wraps and pads products
Builds crate around large or odd-shaped articles
Wraps and tightens metal bands around crate using banding equipment
Attach proper identification labels on crates
Cover equipment with neoprene or other protective covering to protect it during shipments
To become a part of our team we require applicants for our General Laborer position to have the following qualifications:
SKILLS
Knowledge of packing/crating procedure
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Written and verbal communication proficiency
Ability to read a tape measure
EDUCATION
High School diploma, GED or the equivalent of training, education and experience
EXPERIENCE
One year of experience in General Laborer, service or similar industry. Sign industry experience preferred
