What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUMMER SCHOOL HIGH SCHOOL MATH COORDINATOR position at Allen ISD?
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities Include :
Coordinate the mathematics area summer program for high school
Work cooperatively with the mathematics Supervisor and Specialist, Summer School principals and staff
Work with other departments, especially Office of English Learners and Special Education
Develop, implement, and evaluate summer school workshops
Communicate and collaborate with teachers using a variety of techniques including email, voicemail, and in-person
Provide ongoing program support for curriculum and instruction, including conducting assessments of students’ progress
Support the high school mathematics summer school program by :
Assisting with administration of assessments, collecting and compiling data and planning interventions
Planning with teachers before and / or after school
Conducting regular meetings with teachers and providing necessary staff development
Teaching in classrooms as needed
Assign, distribute, and maintain an inventory of instructional materials at the school site
Coordinate the return of materials and closing of the mathematics Summer School
Collaborate with other departments to support the needs of all students (including SPED and English Learners)
Organize and facilitate common assessments
EXPERIENCE : Experience :
Previous experience teaching summer school
Certified to teach high school mathematics courses through the Virginia Department of Education
QUALIFICATIONS :
Preferred Qualifications :
At least three years of successful teaching experience in high school, as appropriate
Knowledge of high school designated content courses offered in summer school
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work and communicate well with colleagues
Ability to write memos, reports, and other documents as needed
Must be available to work the week prior to the start of summer school
