What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer School High School Site-Based (Internal Only) position at Allen ISD?
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include :
Participate in all required summer school meetings and trainings
Recruit, train and supervise all summer school staff and work with designated officials to monitor allocations for school site
Work with Information Services staff to create master schedule of classes and student course assignment
Prepare staff handbook, plan, and conduct orientation, prepare general policies and operational routines for staff
Work with instructional staff and others regarding student placement and completion of final grades
Set instructional tone and support sound instructional practices
Develop initial communication on school expectations for students and follow-up as necessary
Designate a disciplinary referral process and suspension procedures following APS guidelines
Ensure a safe and secure environment for students, and manage serious incidents
Confirm clinic procedures as well as hall passes and other procedures to ensure an instruction-focused environment throughout the day
Maintain consistency with attendance process and school expectations
Manage mailing of attendance letters, interim reports, mid-term, and final grades
Implement and oversee teacher records including attendance and grades
Handle parent and student inquiries
Work with school staff to dismiss students exceeding the number of allowable absences based on State guidelines
Collaborate with the site Testing Coordinator and the Assessment Office staff to create the summer SOL calendar and identify the students who need to take the SOLs.
Establish procedures for testing at the building site and provide information to families as needed.
Perform related duties as required or assigned.

Preferred Qualifications :
Virginia Teaching Certification
Virginia Administrative Certification
Previous experience with Summer School program implementation
Knowledge of APS policies and procedures
Knowledge of research-based, current curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices
Knowledge of culturally responsive practices
