Summary

This position will work with the carpentry team to ensure assigned work projects are completed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers.
  • Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings and guidelines
  • Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety.
  • Ability to interact professionally and communicate with employees with expectations and direction regarding schedules, construction methods, company policies and procedures, permits, safety, quality control and other performance standards.
  • Understand project specifications, and the scope of work and see that they are fully performed in the field.
  • Cleans up worksite debris.
  • Special projects may be assigned as required by the business.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • 1 year work experience in carpentry.
  • Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications.
  • Ability to safely operate machinery.
  • Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a similar laborer, support, or technician role
  • Valid US driver’s license and a clean driving record.

  • Ability to walk on uneven deck surfaces crossing from vessel to vessel.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Repeatedly required to climb vertical ladders.
  • Regularly required to talk, hear, or smell as well as use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, and sometimes lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
