Manage a large warehouse, maintenance operation, and supervise employees within these departments. Ensuring the employees are following their work schedules and adhering to policies. The ability to motivate and train staff, create a positive work environment, and delegate tasks. The ability to resolve issues and keep the facility running smoothly. Have the ability to manage resources efficiently and make decisions that keep expenses low. Must know basic math skills.
Responsible: For warehouse storage facilities and other areas within the company, all Government equipment in the 14 locations within the company, for all supplies and expendables in the 14 locations within the company. Track all supply request orders for all dining facilities and review the request orders carefully and track trends. All supply orders that have any errors or submitted incomplete will be brought directly to the managers attention to include the Project Manager. You will be required to submit DD form
1348-1, turn-in of government property condemned to Defense Re-utilization and Marketing Office located at Ft. Sam Houston. Must be familiar with food service supplies, expendables, equipment and have a basic understanding of their use Assist in issuing supplies to 16 accounts and all purchases of items on invoices or items received are input into the computer system. Monitor customer orders prior to delivery of selected items. Schedule vendor orders to meet customer requirements on a monthly basis and assuring stock availability. Insure supply needs are met. Ensure warehouse facility follows standards, OSHA and Hazmat. Responsible for equipment maintenance and repairs in 16 locations. Required to work various hours (scheduled hours will be explained during interview) and occasionally weekends & holidays. Must have the ability to work well unsupervised and be self-motivated. Environment is fast pace, must be able to lift or move up to 75 lbs & sometimes more with help that occurs occasionally. Update preventive maintenance checklist on a semi-annual basis, due to change of equipment. Establish a Daily checklist for all company vehicles. Responsible for preventive maintenance on all company fleet vehicles. Maintain Equipment inventory.
- Inventory management: Managing inventory levels, tracking inventory, and reducing discrepancies . Maintain an inventory of supplies and expendables by receiving, storing and delivering items. Control movement of materials into and out of the warehouse facility. Must maintain warehouse budget and controls spending for supplies. Occasionally will conduct a physical count; monthly and year-end inventory.
- Safety and compliance: Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment, and complying with health and safety regulations
- Shipping and receiving: Overseeing the delivery of goods into the warehouse, and ensuring products are shipped efficiently to customers
- Staff management: Training, supervising, and appraising warehouse staff, and ensuring they are working safely
- Equipment management: Inspecting equipment, tools, and machinery, and ensuring they are in working order
- Logistics: Managing the logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities
- Communication: Liaising with customers, suppliers, and transport companies
- Problem-solving: Analyzing and resolving work problems, and adjusting handle unexpected issues
- Time management: Using time wisely so products are shipped on schedule
- Record keeping: Maintaining statistical and financial records, and keeping health and safety records
Must be able to pass National Agency Check Investigation and obtain base access. Must have a vehicle, driver license & vehicle insurance. You must be able to pass the MVR report to be eligible to drive the company vehicles. Computer Skills is a must-Spanish speaking is a plus-must be able to operate a forklift.
