Key Responsibilities:
The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide an exceptional customer experience through the careful assessment and quality repair of each vehicle, restoring it back to pre-accident condition.
- Perform a wide range of auto body repairs and restorations on various vehicle makes and models
- Assess vehicle damage and develop appropriate repair plans
- Repair or replace damaged body parts using hand and power tools
- Straighten frames and align vehicle structures to restore proper dimensions
- Perform welding, cutting, and shaping of metal panels as needed
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming
- Apply paint coatings using spray guns and ensure proper color matching
- Perform paint blending and polishing to achieve a seamless finish
- Inspect repaired vehicles to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations at all times
- Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage
- Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts
- Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior parts as needed
- Ensure that work is completed within the labor time guidelines and meets customer timelines
- Plan repair work and prepare accurate cost estimates for customers
- Inspect vehicles after repairs to ensure all work has been executed correctly
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in automotive body repair
- I-CAR training is highly preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to receive satisfactory results on pre-employment drug and background screen
