Job Description
We are seeking a talented and energetic Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to join our team. As an LBS1 Teacher, you will provide individual and group special education instruction and therapeutic services within a self-contained classroom in a therapeutic day school setting.
Our students require a unique blend of academic support, social skills development, and therapeutic interventions. You will work collaboratively as a team with each student and their family to support them in their educational and life goals.
As an LBS1 Teacher at the Allendale Association, you will be provided with:
- A mentor to support your transition into the role
- Initial and on-going training and professional development, including REStArT and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field
- LBS1 License/Endorsement or Short Term Emergency License pursuing LBS1
- Knowledge of Special Education laws, rules, and regulations
