Responsibilities:
- Provide educational and therapeutic services to students in special education within a small class, self-contained therapeutic day school.
- Under direct supervision of Teaching staff, a Paraprofessional provides assistance around instruction and classroom management to ensure a quality learning environment for the students.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Eligible for Paraprofessional License or Substitute Teacher License
On-site training! We offer a 6 month mentor program and initial and on-going training and professional development in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), our REStArT treatment model, and working in trauma informed classrooms
Allendale’s Specialized Educational Services Program is designed and dedicated to help students advance their academic skills, build self-confidence and independence, and identify and reach personal goals through an individualized K-12 therapeutic day school program.
Using Allendale’s evidence-based treatment model, the Relational Re-Enactment Systems Approach to Treatment (REStArT), school staff work closely with clinical staff to develop plans for working with each student while attending our therapeutic day school.
Our school focuses on both education and treatment that is youth and family centered with an emphasis on student interests and adaptive skills.
All staff are trained in the REStArT treatment model and work collaboratively as a team with each student and their family to support them in their educational and life goals.
