What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Needs Educator position at Allendale Association?
Special Education Instruction
As an LBS1 Teacher, you will provide individual and group special education instruction and therapeutic services to students in a therapeutic day school setting.
Interdisciplinary Team
You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including therapists, counselors, and other support staff, to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
Training and Support
As an LBS1 Teacher at the Allendale Association, you will receive:
- Initial and on-going training and professional development, including REStArT and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training
- Mentorship from experienced colleagues
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or a related field
- LBS1 License/Endorsement or Short Term Emergency License pursuing LBS1
- Knowledge of Special Education laws, rules, and regulations
