Director of Summer Programs and Auxiliary Revenue
Allendale Columbia School (AC), a diverse, co-educational, college prep independent school serving more than 350 students in Little School (18mo-36mo) - Grade 12, seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and goal-oriented Director of Summer Programs and Auxiliary Revenue to drive the growth and success of our summer camp programs while developing and managing additional revenue-generating initiatives. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, team-oriented professional with both strategic vision and hands-on operational expertise, capable of seamlessly transitioning between high-level program development and day-to-day execution. Additionally, the ideal candidate is a highly organized, entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic leader who is trustworthy, confident, and adept at collaborating across teams to drive execution and achieve strategic goals.
The Director of Summer Programs and Auxiliary Revenue will report to the CEO and will be responsible for expanding AC3’s PreK–5th grade summer camp into an 8-week program with a goal of enrolling 100 students. In addition to overseeing summer programming, this role will develop and manage auxiliary revenue streams, including facility rentals, merchandise sales, community events, weekend workshops, and extracurricular activities. This role is ideal for a proactive and results-driven leader with a passion for youth programming, strategic growth, and financial sustainability.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Summer Programs
- Program Development & Expansion: Lead, enhance, and oversee the growth of AC3’s summer camp programming.
- Marketing & Outreach: Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase camp enrollment and engage families.
- Staffing & Training: Recruit, hire, and train camp staff while fostering a professional and positive work environment.
- Operational Leadership: Serve as the on-site Camp Director, managing daily operations and ensuring a safe, engaging experience for campers and staff.
- Emergency & Risk Management: Act as the primary point of contact for emergency situations, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
- Program Diversification: Develop and manage "A La Carte" camps and additional programming outside of the core AC Day Camp.
- Budget & Financial Management: Develop and maintain a transparent budget, ensuring maximum profitability while maintaining program quality.
Auxiliary Revenue & Community Programs
- Revenue Growth & Program Development: Identify and develop new opportunities for ancillary revenue streams based on an assessment of profitability. These may include workshops, after-school programs, community partnerships, events, or contracted supplemental programs (e.g., AC After 3, Soccer Shots).
- Facility Rentals: Expand AC’s facility rental revenue stream by establishing new relationships and securing substantial year-round rental contracts.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Manage facility schedules in collaboration with various AC academic departments to ensure efficient space utilization.
- Client Relations & Logistics: Serve as the primary point of contact for rental clients, coordinating logistics with relevant AC teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Merchandise Sales: Increase revenue from merchandise sales through the “AC Wolf Den” by developing strategies to boost engagement and sales.
- Financial Tracking & ROI Analysis: Maintain detailed records to track revenue and assess return on investment (ROI) for all auxiliary programs.
Skills and Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 4–5 years of experience supervising or managing children’s programs, with prior leadership experience in camp or youth-focused settings.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, and CPR certifications are required.
- Management & Training: Proven experience in staff supervision, training, and workforce development.
- Financial Acumen: Strong budget management skills with the ability to track expenses and drive profitability.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent decision-making and crisis-management abilities.
- Communication & Marketing: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in outreach, promotions, and community engagement.
Physical Demands & Working Environment
- Work Environment: Primarily a clerical office environment with occasional on-site camp and program activities.
- Physical Requirements: The role requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and performing physical tasks such as reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Lifting & Movement: Must be able to lift, push, and pull objects as needed, with the ability to handle items up to 50 pounds, including camp equipment, supplies, and event materials.
- Additional Physical Tasks: The position may involve engaging in hands-on activities related to camp and program logistics, including setting up spaces, managing supplies, and overseeing physical activities.

Pay Range: $55k-65K
