***Full-Time, 3p-11p, Monday-Friday****
We work together as part of an integrated team to ensure that our patients are receiving the best patient care and remain as comfortable as possible while detoxing from drugs and/or alcohol. Allendale nurses are trained to meet and anticipate the needs of our patients who can be clinically complex. We train our nurses to be confident and to strengthen the ability to think critically to ensure that our response meets the need of the patient in an individual way.
A typical day includes intake assessments, medication administration, CIWA-AR, COWS, CIWA-B scoring, obtaining blood samples, maintaining IV lines and IV medication administration, collaborating with providers and the clinical team.
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working, open communicator, organized with a team mentality, have a desire to learn a new field, and will demonstrate compassion for each other as well as for patients.
Essential Functions:
- Performance improvement data collection and reporting as directed by the leadership team
- Assists health care practitioner with assessing the efficacy of the current treatment plan
- Accepting and transcribing phone orders from health care practitioner
- Provides input for treatment planning
- Admission and ongoing assessment of client condition
- Vital signs
- Maintenance of medical supplies and medication supplies
- Nursing documentation audits
- Documentation and providing of shift report
- Medication counts as required
- Responsible for the management and disposal of bio-hazardous waste
- Responsible for the management and disposal of medications per program policy
- Patient rounds, COWS and CIWA management
- Blood Draws
- IV insertions, maintenance and medication administration through IV access
- Patient Education
- Following guidelines for the facility and that has been set forth by government agencies.
Requirements:
- Valid Indiana State Nursing License (LPN or RN)
- COMPASSION for those diagnosed with substance use disorder and mental illness.
- EHR competency adequate to perform word processing duties within 90 days of employment.
- Working together as part of a team while delivering patient centered care.
