The mission of the Allentown Parking Authority is to operate, monitor, and maintain convenient and accessible parking facilities and on-street parking opportunities within the City of Allentown. The Allentown Parking Authority works to balance the parking needs of residents, employees, business and property owners, and visitors while enforcing parking ordinances and providing appropriate access to parking.
The Events Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing parking logistics for events throughout the jurisdiction. This role ensures that parking operations are effectively handled during public and private events, including festivals, sporting events, and other large gatherings, and our goal is to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees. The Events Supervisor will work closely with event organizers, local businesses, law enforcement, and internal departments to ensure a seamless parking experience, optimize revenue opportunities, and manage traffic flow. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that attendees have a positive experience by providing clear directions, managing parking flow, and maintaining safety standards. The Events Supervisor reports directly to the Events Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Event Coordination: Work with event organizers, promoters, and stakeholders to plan parking logistics for large-scale events. This includes assessing parking needs, allocating spaces, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Traffic and Crowd Management: Collaborate with local law enforcement and transportation departments to develop and implement traffic management plans that ensure smooth traffic flow and parking accessibility during events.
- Staffing & Scheduling: Coordinate the staffing of parking attendants and enforcement officers for event-related parking. Ensure that sufficient personnel are in place to handle the increased parking demand, including staffing for valet services, and parking enforcement.
- Parking Lot & Facility Management: Ensure that all parking facilities are operational, safe, and adequately prepared for event-related traffic. Oversee setup and breakdown of temporary signage, cones, and barriers for event parking.
- Revenue Management: Optimize parking revenue by implementing strategic pricing models for event parking, managing pre-paid parking options, and ensuring that parking attendants follow all payment and revenue collection protocols.
- Customer Service: Oversee customer service operations related to event parking, addressing any issues or complaints in real-time. Work with customer service representatives to provide information on parking availability, pricing, and policies.
- Communication & Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to promote event parking options through various communication channels, including social media, signage, and websites. Ensure that the public is well-informed about parking availability, pricing, and access routes.
- Post-Event Reporting & Evaluation: Analyze parking operations after each event, compiling data on attendance, revenue, traffic patterns, and customer feedback. Use this information to continually improve parking strategies for future events.

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in event planning, logistics, or parking operations, preferably with experience managing large-scale public or private events.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Experience working with municipal agencies, law enforcement, or transportation departments is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with event organizers, vendors, staff, and the public.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and event management or scheduling software.
- Knowledge of parking operations, traffic management, and revenue collection practices.
- Possession of a valid PA driver’s license
