Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Transcriptionist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports and documents from audio recordings made by healthcare professionals. Your expertise in medical terminology and familiarity with medical records will be essential in ensuring the precision and clarity of the documentation. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent typing skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated medical reports, including patient histories, physical examinations, and treatment plans.
- Review and edit transcriptions for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and adherence to medical terminology standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any unclear dictations or terminology.
- Organize and manage medical records efficiently within the office systems.
- Ensure timely completion of transcription tasks to support patient care and documentation needs.
- Complete all Medical records requests from Patients, insurance companies and other third parties.
Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of medical records management.
- Experience working in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Strong typing skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with transcription software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
