Description
POSITION : Data Engineer
RESPONSIBLE TO : Vice President of Systems and Growth
JOB SUMMARY : The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining database applications using SQL (Structured Query Language). The Data Engineer works with various data sources, such as relational databases, data warehouses, cloud databases, and APIs, to create queries, reports, dashboards, and data pipelines that meet the business requirements and data standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING :
- Write, optimize, and debug SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Create and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, constraints, and keys.
- Develop and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources.
- Design and develop data models, data dictionaries, and data quality rules.
- Perform data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand and translate data requirements into technical solutions.
- Document and test database applications and provide technical support and maintenance.
- Follow and enforce best practices, standards, and security policies for database development and management.
- Maintain master data mappings across multiple platforms including, but not limited to, CPS / NetSuite / Paycom in MS Power BI.
- Execute stored procedures related to month end Accounting close process.
- Perform manual inputs and execution of True-Up, Quarterly Biologics Adjustment, and any changes in processing rules or manual overrides as necessary.
- Update relevant MS Power BI validation reports.
- Monitor ETLs and integrations to systems and troubleshoot any issues.
- Ability to define project scopes, develop detailed timelines, and assess potential risks from a data engineering perspective.
- Demonstrate strong skills in articulating project requirements, managing deliverables, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position requires sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate lab equipment. Must be able to life 25 lbs.
