What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Assistant position at Alliance 2020?
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Tasks listed below are not an exhaustive list of all the tasks that may be required for this position.
- Assist construction management team in all aspects of construction process.
- Perform regular inspections of job site, to ensure project grounds are maintained in a clean, safe condition. Take steps necessary to ensure clean and safe working areas, including but not limited to, sweeping job site, debris removal and other cleaning/maintenance activities.
- Ensure all external fixtures are clean and in working order.
- Assist in moving appliances, heat pumps, planters, garbage cans and supplies as needed.
- Report any safety issues to Assistant Superintendent and/or Superintendent.
- Visually inspect sprinkler heads and report any damage to Assistant Superintendent.
- Lock/unlock common areas as directed.
- Working with superintendents, prepare punch lists for distribution to subcontractors; complete punch list items as needed and directed.
- Assist with maintenance of project records as directed.
- Coordinate with Assistant Superintendent to maintain inventory of supplies required to perform job.
- Coordinate with Assistant Superintendents and Superintendents for walk throughs and inpsections.
- Assist with supervision of subcontractors as directed.
- Any other tasks assigned or directed.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Prior onsite construction experience in the multifamily industry
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, including ability to take and deliver instructions and follow directions from supervisors.
- Ability to have flexibility with working schedule based on business and deadline needs.
- Ability to work a schedule during normal work hours and that may be other than Monday-Friday, 8-5. Work in excess of 40 hours per week is likely.
- Consistent, regular and in-person attendance during regular working hours at the workplace is required.
