POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Entry-Level Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a crucial role in our logistics team by ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of shipping and receiving activities. This position is responsible for scheduling outbound freight, performing transactional tasks with accuracy, conducting daily equipment inspections, supporting workload shifts, and maintaining proper levels of shipping supplies for outbound shipments.
TOP 5 RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule outbound freight.
- Transactional tasks ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Daily inspections of all material handling equipment to ensure good and safe working order.
- Support task assignments to fully support workload shifts.
- Maintain proper levels of ratchet straps for outbound shipping.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Responsible for the timely and accurate receipt of all products
- UPS/FedEx
- Steel or Raw Materials
- Sub-Assembly Materials
- Sub-Contract Materials
- Receive all products against P.O.
- Match P.O. to product (count, quality, etc.)
- Track down missing or odd components
- Pick up and deliver materials using a company truck and trailer.
- Maintain proper order of the job shelves and assist with excess inventory items
- Responsible for setting up and completion of all incoming and outbound shipments. This includes FedEx, UPS, LTL, and shipment of completed jobs
- Responsible for requesting RMAs and completing vendor returns
- Assist with the job kittin process as directed by Purchasing/Shipping Manager or Shipping Lead
- Champion and defend the shipping/receiving and kitting processes in a way that maintains good order
- Complete other tasks as directed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Required Skills & Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role or related logistics position is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry transactions and maintain precise records.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and carriers.
- Basic understanding of material handling equipment and safety procedures.
- Ability to use standard shipping and receiving tools and equipment.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues related to shipping and receiving operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, inventory management software).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights (up to 50 lbs.).
- Capability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse or shipping environment.
