Alliance Cancer Care, located in beautiful Huntsville, Alabama, seeks a full-time Junior Medical Physicist. The ideal candidate for this position is a recent graduate of a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics program seeking to gain clinical experience, enhance their skills, and strengthen their residency application.
Typically, the position spans 18 to 24 months, providing ample opportunity for professional growth in a dynamic clinical environment. The four most recent individuals in this role have successfully secured residency positions.
Alliance Cancer Care is the largest radiation oncology clinic in Alabama, serving northern Alabama and southern Tennessee. We provide radiation therapy to over 225 patients daily at five locations in Huntsville, Decatur, and Florence, Alabama. Our treatments include 3D, IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS, and HDR brachytherapy.

The Junior Medical Physicist will work closely with the radiation oncology team, assisting with quality assurance, radiation safety, calibration, commissioning, and the implementation of new technology. The position will also assist with calculations and isodose planning for external beam therapy and HDR brachytherapy.
Master’s degree in medical physics from an accredited CAMPEP program.
Applicants should be familiar with standard treatment procedures, including 3D, IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, SBRT, and SRS, as well as quality assurance.
