Job Overview
The Receptionist Medical Office Assistant/ Float acts as a collaborative member of the clinic team in providing continuity and quality patient care. Responsibilities include but are not limited to general secretarial/scheduling duties for Alliance Cancer Care.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
1. Answer incoming telephone calls for Huntsville locations within 3 rings. Take appropriate action to handle calls, taking messages and delivering to the appropriate person.
2. Check patients in as they arrive at the clinic. Assist new patients with new patient paperwork. Scan new patient paperwork, insurance cards and driver’s license into EMR. Ensure patient demographics are entered.
3. Check patients out as they leave the clinic, scheduling follow-up appointments and collecting co-pays.
4. Reschedule follow-up appointments as needed due to clinic coverage changes.
5. Request medical records for new patient appointments, inpatients and/or follow-up appointments. Assists the nurses with any requests for additional records.
6. Processes documents into patient’s EMR via chart scanning folder and fax folder.
7. Acts as a backup for all front office positions in times of vacation and unscheduled absences.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
