Description
The Early Head Start Home Visitor plays a vital role in providing comprehensive services to families with infants and toddlers enrolled in the Early Head Start program. This position is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of the home-based program model. The EHS Home Visitor fosters positive relationships with families, promotes child development, offers parenting support, and connects families to community resources.
Responsibilities :
- To establish learning objectives, immediate and long range, utilizing daily, weekly, monthly lesson plans for children and families to foster safe, healthy, and nurturing home environment.
- Effectively communicate with Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, and Enrollment (ERSE) team to recruit and enroll children and families from various segments of the community, ensuring full enrollment and wait-lists of assigned home-based workload.
- Conduct weekly home visits to facilitate the delivery of all Head Start component areas.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct socializations a minimum of twice a month for children and families according to the families' needs.
- Assist families in attaining and maintaining a medical and dental home.
- Secure and maintain information on expectant mothers and child's health (physical, dental screenings, immunization, wellness visits, etc.).
- Complete developmental screenings and on-going assessments for each child.
- Implement home-based program curricula for each family and child to fidelity.
- Attending or facilitating meetings and training as directed by supervisor.
- Coordinate with families and additional Early Head Start / Head Start staff to successfully transition children and families within the program.
- Actively participate in community forums and events to advocate for Early Head Start children and families.
- Perform record keeping, including written documentation, monthly reports, and mandated reporting, in a timely, accurate, and confidential manner.
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding screenings, assessments, and surveys to provide needed information regarding medical, psychological and social services.
- Partner with assigned families to identify child and family needs and appropriate ways of meeting those needs through family goals and referrals.
- Refer families and children to resources within Alliance Center for Education and community organizations for social services needs as necessary.
- Participate in on-going professional development through education, Practice-based Coaching, and training.
- Demonstrate an understanding of child growth and development showing respect for the individuality of every child.
- Exhibit enthusiasm and self-confidence, assuming a positive attitude about the possibility for growth and development of all children.
Qualifications
Compensation Range : $52,000 - $62,400. $500 hiring bonus following successful completion of 90 days of employment document by performance evaluation.
