What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist position at ALLIANCE CLINICAL LLC?
SUMMARY: The Phlebotomist who, under the direction and ongoing supervision of the Clinical Operations Manager and the Principal Investigator, performs phlebotomy on research clinic patients using established laboratory procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and conduct.
- Strictly adhere to confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Collect specimens on schedule, being aware of the importance of timing in instances such as therapeutic drug levels, etc.; follow established SOPs for laboratory specimens.
- Initial, date and record time blood was collected on all laboratory requisition forms and specimen tubes; properly complete laboratory accession record.
- Follow all laboratory safety rules and report possible hazards to the Clinical Operations Manager.
- Properly process incoming supplies.
- Maintain phlebotomy area in a neat, clean manner, well-stocked with supplies.
- Keep blood drawing trays neat, clean, and available.
- Strictly adhere to universal precautions, biohazard handling and sharps needle safety.
- Perform other duties such as data collecting, filing, charging, aiding technologists, etc.
- Meet all study protocol requirements and deadlines.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Completion of accredited phlebotomy certification program, required.
- 2 years experience in phlebotomy, required.
- Proven ability to interact constructively with diverse research patient populations.
- Exceptional attention to details and organization.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proven ability to multi-task in a rapidly changing environment.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPT I licensure, required
