Posting dates for internal transfers : December 19, 2024, through December 21, 2024BASIC FUNCTION : A ward secretary is a non-licensed person who performs clerical, receptionist, and related duties on a nursing division / unit under the direction of a registered nurse and ED physicians. Performs duties which assist with the performance of patient care. Ensures that Emergency Center charges are accurately and appropriately applied to the patient account in an effort to realize maximum reimbursement and ensure compliance with billing procedures and regulations. To accurately scan the appropriate / necessary paperwork into the Meditech system to ensure that the information is available for the continuity of patient care.EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE : High school graduate or equivalent with the ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology. Age 18 or older. Successful completion of Ward Secretary orientation. CIDE training within 3 months of hire.Must be computer-literate to complete the task(s) as required.
