Position Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with Materials and Operations teams to optimize inventory levels.
- Analyze usage of stock and non-stock items to make informed recommendations.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained at optimal levels for uninterrupted production.
- Utilize purchasing and forecasting tools to inform decision-making.
- Report price changes to management for strategic planning.
- Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
- Proactively seek out new vendors to meet production needs at competitive prices.
- Document and communicate quality standards to ensure consistency.
- Quantify and report vendor performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Generate purchase orders and coordinate payments with Accounts Payable.
- Identify opportunities for process or policy improvement.
- Develop a deep understanding of product usage and applications.
- Serve as a company expert on assigned products and materials.
- Recommend material or system changes based on thorough knowledge.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or a related field within manufacturing.
- Attention to detail and ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Strong follow-up skills and a proactive approach to ownership.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ERP systems, and custom-developed tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
