Join the team at Alliance for Community Empowerment as a Bilingual Therapist, where you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality counseling and psychotherapy services for individuals facing barriers such as justice-system impacted, intergenerational trauma, and poverty. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those you serve through one-on-one and group therapy.

Schedule : Monday - Friday 9 AM - 6 PM, may change due to programmatic needs.

ACE’s Department of Behavioral Health collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of case managers, re-entry specialists, peer support specialists, community violence interventionists, and other direct service staff. ACE employs a team of professional therapists to provide exceptional behavioral health services in support of the following prevention, intervention, re-entry, and workforce development programs :

RUTH YouthBuild : RUTH YouthBuild is a comprehensive leadership development program for opportunity youth aged 16-24.
SECTOR : Skills and Experience for the Careers of Tomorrow (SECTOR) offers career pathways that lead to family-sustaining wages for adults impacted by the justice system.
Prevention : Gang Reduction Youth Development’s (GRYD) Prevention program, serving ages 10-15, is committed to fostering youth development through family engagement and personal development services. Our mission is to strengthen the resilience of youth, families, and communities through activities and experiences that promote social, ethical, and emotional wellness.
CVI : ACE’s Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Program connects resources to the communities and individuals most impacted by violence. CVI offers crisis response, mediation, safe passage, support services, and peace treaty facilitation. Its community-centered approach addresses the root causes of violence, aiming to reduce immediate harm and foster lasting peace and resilience.
House of RUTH : The House of Resilience, Unity, Transformation, and Hope (RUTH), is a transitional reentry house for those on a journey of renewal after incarceration. The House of RUTH offers hope, a fresh start, and a foundation upon which individuals can rebuild their lives.
Parenting Program : ACE’s multi-lingual Parenting Program offers a family-centered trauma-informed program designed to equip parents / caregivers with the tools to promote their children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development and well-being as they navigate the parenting journey.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Carries out intake and eligibility determinations and makes appropriate referrals when the applicant is not eligible for ACE services; conducts participant assessments leading to enrollment; completes and updates participant service plans.

Coordinates wrap-around services with other providers; provides transportation of participants to meet program goals.

Organizes, coordinates, prepares, and delivers groups and workshops for participants and their families.

Fosters positive relationships with clients, community members, families, and partner organizations.

Diagnoses, creates, implements, and documents individualized treatment plans according to participant needs and circumstances.

Refers patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary.

Follows all safety protocols and maintains confidentiality of Protected Health Information.

Collaborates with participants to develop post-treatment activity plans.

Working closely with the Director of Clinical Services and program case managers, you'll ensure that all services meet the highest standards of care and ethical compliance.

Maintains compliance with ethical codes and standards.

Safely manage participants in instances of mental health crisis.

Works to incorporate into organizational culture best practices for diversity, equity, inclusion, restorative justice, and trauma-informed care.

Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES :

Possesses knowledge of the role and duties of the position; understands the department’s roles and can meet the expectations of the position for work schedule, punctuality, attendance, time management, productivity, and quality of work.

Possesses the interpersonal skills needed to promote a safe, positive, and inclusive professional work environment conducive to effective service delivery; communicates effectively both orally and in writing.

Is sensitive to community, cultural, and personal dignity of program participants and can successfully engage, assess, and plan services for participants typical of the program’s target population. Recognizes appropriate boundaries and limitations on interactions with program participants and their families and the need to maintain professional standards and practices. Is familiar with standard approaches to accurate participant record keeping, including timely charting, notation formats, content limitations, and confidentiality practices.

Proficient at utilizing a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities / interventions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout facilities.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to provide services.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy

Therapist II requires licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, LP).

Current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Possess a current California Driver’s License, clean DMV record & adequate auto insurance.

Must submit to a Department of Justice Criminal background check.

Initial TB employment clearance required.

Fluent in Spanish, verbal / written, and the ability to conduct services in Spanish preferred.

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in California is $33.57 to $37.54 hourly. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc.
